Our November Beaujolais event was a home event. Hosted by Tom Alton with assistance from sommelier Anne Popoff of lesavoir-boire.com or you can follow her on instagram here .
The original idea was to have a “nouveau” event however for a variety of reasons – mostly logistical – as explained by Anne and so Tom pivoted to a Gamay event. This was brilliant. Niagara is particularly good at Gamay and so we were treated to 3 Ontario and 3 Beaujolais wines, all available to purchase should one strike a fancy.
The wines in order were:
13th Street Winery Gamay 2020
Beaujolais Les Grandes Coasses by Paul Durdilly 2021
Malivoire Farmstead Gamay 2019
Domaine de La Madone Le Perreon Beaujolais Villages 2020
Bachelder Les Village Gamay Noir 2020
Domaine D’Argenson Cote de Brouilly Cuvée Premiere 2017
Now… for those attending we have a fun little six-click survey to rank your preferences. Did you buy any? Hmmmm.
One final note… Tom did such a wonderful job we are going to use it as a template for home tasting events going forward. I’ll be sending you all access to our new “fool proof” wine tasting TODOs shortly.
